I know my dog loves me. She tries to follow me everywhere I go. There are a few places I would like some privacy, please. This is what happens if I forget to latch the bathroom door when getting into the shower.
Perhaps she is making sure the bath mat doesn’t move.

When I adopted my dog, he had kennel cough. The vet said the moisture from a shower would help so we had to drag him into the bathroom for two weeks to help him get over it.
That was 6 1/2 years ago. He still thinks he has to come in every time I go into the bathroom.

When I take a shower, sometimes my cat gets up on the edge of the tub between the cloth shower curtain and plastic liner curtain. He can’t take it that I’m hiding from him.
Otherwise I’ll find him sitting on the toilet (with the lid down) when I open the curtain, or stretched out on the bathroom floor. Farthest away he gets is in the hall outside the bathroom.

This reminds me of the many times I find cat paws sticking under my bathroom door. If I crouch down to look, there’s always a big eyeball looking back at me.

A friend of mine has a cat which has devised ways to get onto a shower enclosure.
*me taking shower at his place* -> *cat comes up along top of shower enclosure, begins licking my hair*: a thing that happened.

One of my cats always sits beside the shower while either me or my SigOther are having one, and just purrs the whole time. After the water is off he jumps in and tries to lap at the moisture in the air.

I think she may have been used as a nanny dog before I got her and was used to watching kids in the bath. She would follow my kids around the house and lay down in whatever room they were in as well.

My dog lily likes to spend time in the bathroom with people. She always had to join me at all my previous houses. If I didn’t she’d whine and scratch at the door. This house she doesn’t because she’s not allowed in the master bedroom so she can’t see/get into the bathroom.

Our dog does the same if I’m not home or I lock her out of our room. Some nights she gets nervous and has to patrol the whole house, checking on each kid before coming back to our room to lie down.

My cat will only drink water from the bathtub faucet. I have to leave it slowly running 24x7. He will not drink out of a bowl, and if you forget to leave the faucet running he just sits in the tub patiently waiting with a sad kitty look on his face.
He’s nowhere to be found once the pressure gets turned up and the showerhead turned on, but will occasionally show up as I’m drying myself off and look at me as if wondering wtf I’m doing with his water.
Unrelated, but he LOVES belly rubs too. Too damn cute.
