I just had to watch a YouTube video to finish Long Form 5. I’m so disappointed with myself.

Is that Ed Parker and Elvis? Damn!!! Also what level do you do long form 5? I got to blue belt and do not remember the forms.

That it is! Elvis was a black belt in American Kenpo. Parker taught him and also did time as his bodyguard.

Long 5 is the form for 2nd Degree Black.

American Kenpo? Pretty cool. I studied for 6 years before school and work got in the way. I still remember a majority of the techniques (they’re basically reflex) though my extensions and Forms are quite rusty at this point. I’m really beginning to miss it and need to get back into it at some point in the future.

I like to count how many people I could potentially kill by properly executing each self defense technique in a long form.

Awesome! If you practice diligently, muscle memory will hold onto things forever.I haven’t run Long 5 in 4 years (it’s my least favorite) so that’s where it got tripped up. Strangely enough I could still do Long 6...

In the long forms the moves are so brutal. Pretty much every move in 5 wjll maim or kill somebody.
