Maybe, but I’d use something cheaper.

You can get an used 2012-2014 B-class for mid $20K - early $30k.

Any small MPV is good for Uber, specially if it’s diesel/hybrid.

How much ? I thought cars were relatively cheap in North America. The B starts at €26k (new) in Germany, and that’s including taxes. That’s €22k before taxes, or $23.5k (US) or $31k (CAN). For a new (base) one.

You can get a former taxi 2012 B for €6k. Obviously a diesel, with an automatic. 300k km on the odometer, but still.

$31k sounds about right. The avg price where I live seems to be around $36k.

Makes more sense if you have a B180 CDI rather than a B200 Turbo.

I had one on a trip to Europe. Quite adequate and still had enough oomph. And a manual gearbox.

We only get the B250 here.

Oh, so Mercedes is getting optimistic about naming their cars too... :)

The diesel was nice in Europe. I think there’s a writeup I did with some pictures from France somewhere on Oppo.

Keep in mind that the Canadian dollar is worth quite a bit less than the US dollar, and then there’s the “fuck you, Canada” tax that automakers apply to Canadian stuff.

And then, Mercedes is trying to maintain more of a luxury image in North America, so a Mercedes will cost more for the sake of costing more. And, this is the company that, here in the US, successfully lobbied to destroy grey market importation purely to protect their profit margins (because people were flying to Germany, buying a Mercedes there, and shipping it here, to save a lot of money).

Cars are cheaper, but not Mercedes.
