For some reason, the fact they name winter storms really, really bothers me.

I hear you. It’s nothing more than a marketing ploy, which the NWS pretty much called out.

I prefer winter storms by dates. April Fools Day Storm, Blizzard of ‘78; stuff like that. Not only is it a marketing ploy, it’s also embarrassing. It’s a blizzard, not a hurricane. Quit freaking out so much. Some of us quite like the snow and its ability to keep people off the roads.

The funniest part about this is it is one of the very rare cases when Accuweather agrees with the NWS lol

We need a storm named Leeroy Jenkins

Kinja'd!!!

For Hearthstone, Blizzard actually found the guy and had him do the ‘Leeroy Jenkins’ yell, and the chicken quote. The card they made is part of the basic set, so he’s in that game forever. Could you imagine being immortalized like that by your favorite company?

It would have to be named retroactively because it’d be impossible to forecast.
