I heard back from my shop today (Edge Motorworks in Dublin, CA — they’re fantastic) and sure enough the other three tires appear to be defect free. I’d been harboring a small doubt that I trashed them in some way on the track the day before and was too dumb to realize it but nope. It was the pothole. Also, and this is the amazing bit — no other damage. The wheel is still good. The 1" of tire bead was enough to even keep the wheel from a scuff. Not too shabby for losing an entire wheel at freeway speed in traffic.
I’m getting a new set of rears as the fronts are still like new. (It’s all wheel drive but the diff between the fronts and backs is really a torque converter so the minimal amount of wear difference won’t harm anything.)
Sure beats the time I hit a deer. Jesus.

Seems my guess about my lack of braking ability was correct as well. My brakes are fine. Just the ABS thought I had locked up the back wheel and was overriding my pedal input thinking it knew best.

I feel your pain. Detroit pothole got me last month.
Inside sidewall on the passenger rear tire blew out. Pulled over, saw it was unfixable and limped it to a discount tire a mile up the road. Expensive morning commute.
