Kinja'd!!!

Kind of suck really... Not that I had anything important on it or anything, but still, some pictures will be lost and so on.

First time I ever get a phone to die on me like that for no reasons... I was using it in bed this morning, the screen froze, it turned off and that was it. It turned back on at one point, as I attempted to turn on recovery mod for a while, but stuck itself on the “bootlader is unlocked and may be corrupted” message before turning itself off again.

Now, no way to turn it back on at all... Good thing is that it’s still under warranty but well. Still suck.

Do you not back up your pictures?

I think the only thing I have in the cloud is my contacts and I had no idea they were like that, and kept it like that. I keep my phone backed up to my computer, also like half the pictures I use on oppo I took with my phone, so it inadvertently get synced more often. I know I can upload from my phone, but I like using oppo more on the computer.

Damn, that sucks. A recent update caused this error in a lot of Nexus phones, apparently. Given what’s out there, I still think they are the best possible phones.

Had the bootlop with my G4, but fortunately Flickr uploaded all my pictures to the cloud in original quality. Took 2 days to fix the phone tho.

Are you in the Beta because my 6P is and it is constantly going wrong. Every so often I have a dreaded feeling of it ain’t coming back on. That said after 18 months it is still chugging along.

Nope, rooted stock 7.1.1. Screen doesn’t even turn back on anymore and it’s not recognized by my computer at all when plugged in so...

My wife’s LG G5 she bought in September did something very similar about 3 weeks ago. Nothing like a 3 month old device turning into a brick.....

I leave dropbox picture backup running. That thing is great. It backs them up whenever you hit wifi. It’s perfect. From time to time, I use it for photographing a document or something for edit on my PC while at work. Before I even turn around, it’s synced to my PC.

I have a 5X as well and I have to say, it’s not really a great phone. Too little memory and flaky build quality.

Looks like some system partition corruption... Sadly such isn’t very hard to achieve on the 5X/6P. If you weren’t under warranty I’d tell you to flash a new ROM and recovery, but tbh, just send it in.

Keep OPPO Bootloop.

Happened to me as well. I’m currently on my third warranty replacement.

The issue is soldered joints opening with heat. Put it in a sealed bag and freeze it. It should turn on long enough to retrieve your files.

Yeah, I’ve read the freezing stuff... I will give it a try, but only after I get a replacement lol. But as of right now, i don’T think it’s a bootloop... NOTHING turns on at all...

Nah, no flashing for me either... It doesn’t turn on AT ALL. It stuck itself once on bootloop but shut down soon after. Since then, nothing at all... No screen, no reaction of any kind.

My wife’s 5X got the bootloop issue. Sent it back to LG under warranty and it seems to be fixed... for now. Hadn’t had any issues with my 6P yet, knock on wood.

RIP. Guess that’s what we deserve for buying LGs. I thought maybe Google would hold them to a higher standard, but seems I was wrong.

I thought of replacing my Note II with one, then I decided fuck it, it’s survived 4 years, let’s see how long it could last.
