AKA Sonic Gray Pearl, a color in which you can purchase your new Civic hatchback. Saw one on the street this morning. Not bad, but wondering how this color will hold up over time. Could this be the ‘90s teal of the ‘10s (Teens)? And if not, what is this generation’s teal?

I don’t think that gray, in all its forms, will ever go out of style. Teal was an unconventional color. Gray is the definition of convention. As I’m thinking about it, I’m not sure we have a “modern teal” at the moment. Maybe BMW’s Austin Yellow Metallic...but that’s ugly in the present. Lol

I really don’t get Honda and Toyota getting so aggressive with their styling recently. I guess it’s better than pure vanilla (maybe?), but I don’t know why they wouldn’t shoot more for classically handsome and well-proportioned.

Gray won’t go out of style, but this gray is definitely not conventional. Very much feels like a “trendy” color whose popularity will pass quickly to me.

That’s funny, I saw one this morning too. I think it’s a great color. Stands out in the sea of white, silver, beige, and black without being “loud”. Of course it may of caught my eye just because it’s a brand new car, and was showroom clean. I’m not a fan of alk that cheap black plastic on the rear bumper.

I mean, I like the color, I’m just not sure it pairs well with a base Civic. A Civic Si or Type R? A FiST? Sure. Although, I think the greater travesty here is those awful wheels with sections painted black that car manufacturers seem to love these days. That trend can’t die soon enough. They all look awful.

I think the 911 is my favorite canvas for that Grey.
Personally I’ll take vanilla over that sort of “styling” any day. Understated cars can be brought to life with an exiting color (most of the time), but when you start as an ugly car there is not a whole lot of help for you.
Even in black that new civic is just a disgrace. I agree with you about Toyota, and I will even throw Lexus in the mix.

I actually came upon a 997 turbo in that color that was priced just out of my stretch budget (so really way out of my budget). I even went to look at it, but there was some business about it having no Porsche CoA. The dealer was saying that it was because of the Remus exhaust that was on it, but it all sounded a little shifty to me. Price was way low for a 997 turbo with lowish miles, asking 66k.

The Civic is so rough to look at that it needs interesting or bold colours to complete the boldness of the visual statement. The more base models with awful hubcaps in white and silver are just boring and ugly instead of interesting and ugly.

Me too! I’d love the chance to get behind the wheel of one and compare it to the current GT3.
Unfortunately, I’ve not heard anything about the GT4, or anything Cayman/Boxster related for a next gen. I’m itching to know what their GTS motor of choice will be. Will it get the 911's 3.0L TTH6, or a power dense variant of the 2.5L TTH4? What motor will the next GT4 have for that matter? Let’s speculate. :)

Sounds like there will be another GT4 for the ‘18/19 model year, and hopefully, due to the demand for the previous one, it will not be limited production as the first one was. If Preuninger has his way, the NA 6 will stay in the GT4.

450 hp in the GTS has to mean it stays 6 cylinder, but interesting thought about the TTH4 eventually creeping up into the 911 line.
