It was kinda sorta revealed by The Rock in a video. This is also one of the new colors, Orange Fury.

It has a full digital instrument cluster now.
Customizable and whatnot.
It looks much better with not “crap quality” photos.

I had a feeling that orange would look more orange with proper lighting. The color in that video was way out of whack.

You probably noticed the green shadows, wheels, tires, and trim in the video and screen shots. Those are the most obvious indications that the green channel was all jacked up. In RGB color space, adding green to orange makes yellow (red: R100/G0/B0, orange: R100/G50/B0, yellow: R100/G100/B0). I’m pretty sure we were looking at an orange car that just looked yellow because the green channel got screwed up.

But the 124 looks just as awkward in person.
In fact, as much as I like the current Mustang, the front end feels just as off in person as it does in pictures. I actually think this facelift might help that.

Car looks fine. I wish the headlights were the same shape at the back as the current model, but the rest looks fine. Full digital gauge cluster is sweet, definitely a nice premium addition.

By and at large, the Internet’s reaction to a refreshed car is usually negative. Then some people become indifferent and some actually end up liking it. The same thing happened to the Mustang in 2014 when we saw the first official pictures of the 2015.
In the case of refreshes, I have a psychological theory. A refresh is just a collection of small visual changes made to a car. So, when one sees it for the first time, they see something that is sort of familiar but different. That makes our brains look at it and go “hmm, I don’t think so.” It reminds me of seeing someone with colored contacts for the first time. My sister went through a phase where she wore blue contacts even though she had naturally brown eyes. I and others who’ve known her for a long time could barely look at her because she looked so similar...yet different. Like her, but not her. We see this Mustang, and it’s a Mustang, but...not the one we know. Anyways, that’s enough bullshitting for now, back to work.

I prefer the original, but I’ve also gotten so used to seeing them. I think it’ll grow on me, but they could definitely do better. That dash is nice, but it probably indicates a price increase or may be an option.

If it was, I’m not sure what would be funny about it. Nah, I read your comment about the green being messed up and saw the green exit signs as evidence of that because my experience tells me exit signs are red. Like a true internet commenter, I didn’t search to see if they can also come in green. A quick web search tells me that they can. Also, if they were red, just adding on the green channel wouldn’t change them to green without removing the red. So, just ignore my comment. Nothing to see here.
