I know that it’s happened to other people, and so far just one bottle out of the hundred+ that I’ve had but still... Yuck.

Why Soylent? If you’re going to eat a 1 dimensional meal that isn’t very enjoyable (like a frozen bagel), might as well have something with real nutrition.

I bought a tube of Braunschweiger once and was enjoying a snack. As I got to the middle of the tube I started seeing little whiteish chunks in the surface. I opened the rest to find a mass of small maggots at the bottom. Then immediately blew lunch. I couldn’t eat for two full days.

Mold is apparently a consistent problem for Soylent. Both inside and on the outside under the threads. I was interested in their product, but I refuse to buy from any company that consistently over multiple months/batches/versions can not manage to get their packaging process right and avoid contamination.

Yeah, the powder has been fine for me so I’ve gone back to that. It’s also better for traveling - you can’t take bottles around with you in suitcases.

my issue is not the product or concept, it’s the company and their lack of shits given to their production quality and techniques
