its one of my top 3, if not number one favorite car ad ever.
the cognitive dissonance created by what we know as hendrix’s raw intro to purple haze played by the sophisticated sound of a symphony orchestra string section is a perfect realization of the luxo-german brand and the raw performance it holds. combine that with the late 80's interest in “wild life documentary” footage and narration, and an unforgettable ad is made.
i love the 944.

Stef bait! I would happily daily a 944, they’re really good cars. Some repairs are difficult for the novice, but they’re really well engineered in my opinion. Best to get an ‘86-up with the updated dash.
