I just discovered that an aquaintence of mine has a 1929 Nash coupe hiding in his garage. It’s in rough shape. He spent a number of years traveling and the car has been sitting all this time. The frame is wood and is warping out of shape. One of the doors doesn’t close anymore. It’s in desperate need of attention. The good news is that he just built a new shop and is planning to move it soon. Here’s wishing him luck! The Nash below is the same year and same paint. Only the wheels are different as far as I can tell.

Kinja'd!!!

I can’t wait to see it when it’s done!

Would it be worth replacing the wood frame with an aluminum unit, or steel?

He said that the estimate for getting it reframed was $50k. Then he started talking about boxing in the existing frame with steel to straighten it out. That’s when I decided the best course of action was to change the subject. I don’t know him well enough to start an argument without compromising our kids’ friendship. That’s the only reason I know him.
