First impressions:

- The Surface Pro 4 with Type Cover does feel slightly heftier than the MacBook.

- The MacBook does feel surprisingly snappy even with a Core M processor (at least for basic tasks, like web browsing).

- The butterfly keys on the MacBook are atrocious compared to the ones on the MacBook Pro (which I find bearable).

- I like having a touchscreen on my Surface, which costs the same price, along with an i5 processor.

I’d rather the Surface, personally.

Same. It’s just a whole lot more useful.

I’d take the sueface. I typed a few basic sentences on the new MBP at the Apple Store when it first came out and absolutely did not like it

I’d go with the surface Pro, but the price is... meh...

I might be an old man (27) but I like my phones to have touch screens and my computers to be computers. My 15" MBP isn’t too big to have on my lap for TV watching and can Photoshop/CAD with ease.

The little design office where I’m at tried a Surface Pro out and it just wasn’t as useful.

My 2 pennies.

Ask Bill Belichick how he likes the Surface Pro.

I’ve used both machines spec’ed to the max, in, coincidentally, the same color as you have shown in the picture above. The Surface was a complete disaster. It would routinely turn on at night in my work bag, leaving me with a dead battery in the morning. The battery would rarely last over 3 hours, which is clearly not normal, but I could not resolve the issue. All I had installed was a legal copy of Office 365. The default PDF reader was clunky too, nothing like reading a PDF on an iPad.

With Windows 10, the Surface had to be rebooted frequently. I got so pissed with Microsoft that, for the first time in my life after literally 30 years as a PC user, I got the Macbook as a replacement.

The Mac is a stable, elegant machine (and the keyboard is just fine). The biggest weakness with Macs is the fact that Office for Mac is stripped of features and is sluggish. Of course, this is Microsoft’s doing.

For work where Excel is fairly essential, I still prefer PCs, but for everything else I love the MacBook (and presumably any Mac). I have not even started on about how much safer and less infection-prone Macs are. With PCs I would have firewalls, anti-virus scanners, and spyware scanners always active or run periodically. With the Mac, I run one app once in a while, and only for kicks because it has never found anything and likely never will.

I have a 2016 Pro 13" from my company and I personally own a 2015 Gold Macbook.

The Pro is a complete workhorse...it sees decent abuse from me, plus a 60 hour workweek. It’s been mine for 1.5 years without issue - still super excited my company said they’ll be giving me one of the new ones with the touch keyboard thing.

My little Macbook is good at browsing the web, playing music (decent speakers), and taking places, given how compact it is. I had an issue with the keys being so shallow, but it took me 48 hours to adapt.

If I want to do anything important, I use the Pro.

I mean, I could ask myself how I like it...

I like my Surface, but the battery does leave something to be desired.

I know, was just making a funny. I’m not an Apple fan by any means so of I was in the market for something like that I would probably go with the Surface.
