Kinja'd!!!

And no, the dead pedal doesn’t count. I want pedals that move, and actually do something.

The merc i took my license in had this annoying parking brake sadly, so there’s atleast those. Some older american vehicles had a starter pedal on the floor too, but those are likely automatic so not counting...

My criteria is that the pedal moves, and that it actually does something. Starting the engine is doing something.

And, high beams are also doing something - plenty of American trucks had a foot parking brake, high beam switch, service brake, and accelerator.

Although, now, I’m wondering if any cars had the following configuration of pedals: parking brake, high beam, starter, service brake, throttle. Bonus points if it’s got six pedals by adding a clutch.

I’m envisioning some kind of big rig that you drive like a rolling pipe organ.

Most muscle cars from the 60s and 70s had the floor mounted parking brake. My 71 Formula had it and a dimmer switch.

I thought of that, but it’s only got three pedals. No clutch pedal, I think that’s a paddle on the steering wheel.

My S10 has 4 pedals, which somehow managed to throw off someone I was teaching manual.

Ah, suddenly it makes sense why the pedals are mashed in some sort of shaft-looking position. Didn’t know that McLaren had a rear braking system, though.

I should’ve said vehicles, not cars. No, it doesn’t have to be a car.

A job I had in high school had me on occasion driving a 1988 F-350 diesel rollback with a 4 w/OD manual. Complete with pedal parking brake and a dimmer button.

We used to joke that you weren’t driving it, just playing the pipe organ.

I preferred to drive the F-whatever heavy duty with the caterpillar diesel in it, but only because it had enough gearing to get itself up steep grades.

Since you changed to “vehicle” - J3 Cub. It’s hard to see, but the small pedals are the left and right brake, and the top pedals are for the rudder. Newer aircraft have the brakes and rudders combined into one pedal per side.

Is that... high beam switch, clutch, service brake, throttle, starter?

Where’s the parking brake? Because I was hoping someone would post something with a parking brake in addition to all of those.

thats an old chevy, about 57 ish truck. its highbeam, clutch, brake, gas, starter. those trucks had a lever under the dash(hand brake), that you pull

Kinja'd!!!

unless it was a rigged set up, you more than likeley wont see it. floor button starters ended in the late 50s, and pedal emergency brakes(thats what they were known as BEFORE they became parking brakes) didnt become big until the middle to late 60s(at least in trucks) 67 ish........

Not a ‘car’ to be technical... but it has 5 pedals!

Foot clutch, left brake, right brake, foot throttle, diff lock
