Bored, waiting for my truck to get done. AMA.

Filler image I took Saturday. This phone takes oddly good pictures.

If money was no object and you could buy one car, what would you grab?

It’s still a possibility, I just need to sell the truck first. It’s also on a list of other possibilities though.

Probably a new Sierra Denali or an M2. Picking between those two would take a while.

This reminds me of something that happened to me a few years back...

Rolled up to work at a construction site. Across the street from the site was city street parking, posted 2 hour maximum, with a row of cars already parked there. I pulled my w124 sedan into the last available spot and the crew hopped out and started unloading the trunk.

A moment later the site CSO approaches us and tells me I can’t park there. I’m in no mood, so I ask him why not, and he gets flustered and angrily replies “You can’t park there! That spot is for vehicles!”

I stood there stunned at the stupidity of his comment. Looked at him. Looked at my sedan. Looked back at him. Looked back at my sedan. Shook my head and pointed at the blue construction fence across the street and said something to the effect of “Your authority ends at that blue fence, now fuck off.” Then closed the trunk and walked away.

About an hour later he approaches me on site, apologies, and literally tried to give me a hug.

Vancouver is weird.

This might be the most Canadian thing I’ve ever read.

E46 Coupe/Sedan, GMT800 Tahoe, OG Lexus IS, 3rd Gen 4Runner, 2nd Gen Pathfinder, E39, and the TSX, among a couple other things.

wow, take off the tahoe and I pretty much had this exact same list when I was shopping for a reliable daily early 2016. Speculating 4-6k price range?
Don’t forget the additional bang for your leather wrapped Nissan desires, QX4. They’re about the same cost as the pathfinder at this point.

You nailed the budget.

Good point. I always forget about the QX4.

Considering they’re at the same level of the depreciation curve, you get a few more options, leather, I think the QX4 all had 4wd vs the pathfinder could be just 2wd. I still want one of those. Put a beefy tire on the trispoke OEM wheels. Be a nice daily.

I ended up for a rebuilt title TSX for under budget. Had some pics of it prior to being rebuilt so I felt pretty comfortable with it. It had a few kinks I could work out and a few I later found out were a little too nasty for my tastes in rebuilt car. Such is the life of cheap used cars though. I picked it for the good reviews overall, right size for my needs, and I wanted to try the Honda world. I hadn’t owned a “jap job” prior to the TSX. Plus I knew it would be an easy resale and it was.
