Alfa Romeo Touring Spider 2000

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

No, it’s not an Alfa Romeo we’re looking at—it’s an Alfa See Ya.

Who in their right mind would name a motorhome the “See Ya”? That’s just awful on so many levels, not to mention how the darned thing looks.

Anyways, as a consolation prize the Alfa pictured up top also happens to be for sale—if you have to ask, though...

Also, uhhh, are those plates legal? It says it comes with a California title but I’m not entirely certain...

I wouldn’t trust that car. They put a model version next to it in that one picture. Those kind of people always overvalue their cars(like the HHR and PT Cruiser people).

There’s a pretty huge gulf between this and an HHR/PT Cruiser but yeah, if it’s not advertised then the price is probably not worth.

When it comes to RVs I don’t particularly care what they look like on the outside. It’s all about the interior, and that one looks pretty sweet.

Just because they are different leagues of cars doesn’t mean they aren’t the same type of people.

Hard to say. I, for one, would much rather talk to an old Alfa chap than some Floridian with a PT Cruiser, but maybe that’s just me...

Yeah the manipulative, run-on (and on...and on) over-the-top ad copy — another (not terribly skilled) scammer move. Practically yells “snow job,” you know?

Seems like an enthusiast selling to other Alfisti is, like,

“’61 2000, no rust, rebuilt engine/trans, new clutch. 1.5K on new Pirellis. Top leaks a little when washed. Original tools, bill of sale from dealership in Milan,”

amirite?

If I promise to sleep in the 2000 can I have it instead? Nice rolling HoJo tho :)

I like the interior of this Monaco more, for whatever reason the lighting+interior arrangement on the See Ya is not gelling with me.

Plus I find the outside much more refined and tasteful—and the name, although these are honestly pretty superficial things.

Better yet, this Gulfstream.

More modern interior, dated (but still pleasant) exterior.

Agreed. Plus, when they write one of those CL novels (see comment above) :P

Well the guy selling it seems more like a pretentious caretaker if you ask me—it’s almost like he doesn’t own the car, he’s just selling it for someone else and decided to embellish the story a bit since, as you say, a more dedicated enthusiast would just give you the important details and not how “collectible” it is. The pictures almost look too nice—I had to do a double take when I started copying them over as they look almost like something you’d find on, say, Petrolicious rather than a CL ad.

Well.....fine. I’d rather have the 2002 Gulfstream  I replied to Dusty Ventures with down below, now that’s a pretty classy Class A hauler.

Honestly my personal needs would be towards something that can sleep more than any of these seem able to handle

Ah, how many? Not really in the market (and I don’t suspect you’re either) but theoretically speaking we would need five. These are...four sleepers?

While you can be certain a PT Cruiser person will be mostly annoying an Alfa person is going to be a 50/50 chance. But with an Alfa like this that ups to 70/30 maybe even as high as 80/20 the chance of them being unbearable. It’s like MG people, the ones that own older way more valuable ones are more annoying than the others.

Whooeee kinda liking those French doors in the See Ya but that Gulfsteam is niiice

“Pretentious” seems like a great way to put it. Like someone who doesn’t really know or understand the car (but pretends to) trying to sell somebody else who doesn’t...etc

While ranting lol...agreed re the pics. If seriously interested a Google image search to see where they were lifted from might be in order, you know?

Shiny side up, yo

Minimum three individual “beds,” preferably four or more. I think I may have stayed in one of those Monacos back in 2010 (or an RV very similar), in which case it does meet my minimum, as the dining table converts into a bed.

And no, I’m definitely not in the market at the moment.

Enthusiasts vary some according to marque (exhibit A: stereotype of P-car zealots haha), right? But there’s a certain breed of car salesman that seems to be the same everywhere..,

I tried, but the pictures turn nothing on reverse GIS...so either they’re authentic or somehow altered...

Hmmm

Interesting

Caution flag still out, though, you know?

[as far as marque enthusiasts go...ime Alfa people be like, foaming sometimes *looks at ceiling, whistling tune* but usually don’t seem as full of themselves as some others...probably depends what annoys one most, you know? Personally, full-of-themselves — blecch.

What do you think?]

Haha, I’ve never met any Alfa owners IRL so I couldn’t tell you, but I would have expected them to be more like James May rather than as you’ve described them...

In the past Dad took me with him to a couple regional Alfa Owners’ club meets. It turned out kinda surprising...might be of interest cuz perhaps not what you might’ve expected, either?

Of course it was a few years ago but even for a younger teen they made it be fun...as a group they were kind of loose around the edges, you could say; (mostly) laid-back-ish guys, a few just totally off the chain (in a fun way), maybe 20-30% engineers that got interested because of technical stuff, and the rest just average guys. They all seemed genuinely to enjoy the cars, eager to share the enthusiasm with anyone interested. Credentials, income didn’t seem to matter — just some level of curiosity and/or enthusiasm. Like, Alfas were for people who’d get their hands dirty if they felt they needed to, kluge stuff when they had to, and mostly just to have fun

One never knows, ya know?

Nice, thanks for the fyi! That’s an awesome inventory for sure...

But $38K for a Figaro?! Serious crack pipe given you can get one for $4K in Japan off Goo-Net and import it for around $6K...
