Kinja'd!!!

A couple of years ago we had the Oppo Fitness Challenge. We started strong but it kind of fizzled. Anyone up for another go? I propose a 6 week thing. Thoughts? What would we measure? I am willing to pony up a prize. Anyone else willing to put something in the bucket?

I’m in. I need to gain weight. I’m 5' 11" or 6' and only weigh 150 pounds. Need to increase my strength training and build muscle.

We could measure our own personal things. For example, I have a physical exam in March that I need to pass. That’s my goal.

I’m 6-5 and 192 soaking wet. As long as you’re cool with my goal of adding about 15 pounds of muscle, I’m in.

Kind of what I was thinking. We all input a goal at the beginning, whatever it is and measure progress to it.

Kind of thinking everyone can put in their own goals and mark progress. Prizes will most likely be for those who participate each week and maybe one for most progress. I don’t want to limit it to one thing.

I’ve been meaning to renew my gym membership. I’ll sit this one out, but when I start going to the gym again, I’ll certainly participate in the next one.

I’d like to run another marathon or maybe a 50k but I know better than to commit before I get some health stuff sorted out. I’m the type that would keep training to force a goal that’s really doing more harm than good. But here’s hoping!

(ETA, I’m signing up for the Leadville Heavy Half tomorrow so I’ll at least finish that)

Good luck! I know a couple of people who do ultras. Awesome and crazy. I am not a runner. Never have been since I had bad knees when I was a kid. It impresses me when people want to run for fun.
