It’s time for new soes, and I’m looking for something durable. I usually buy Adidas, Vans, and Pumas, and the soles all wear through in 1-2 months. I’m looking for simple, good looking sneakers that I can dress up or down with; what brands do you like?

I wear Vans for my everyday shoes (lace-up > slip-on tbh), and my work shoes are a pair of Brooks running shoes (just needed something comfortable for standing all day).

I’ve been almost exclusively wearing Merrells for the last ten years. I’ve also got an older pair of Timberland work boots, Helixes I think, that are easily the most comfortable footwear I own that I wear more often than I should... they’ve even ended up on the dance floor the odd occasion.
I need a new pair of shoes but I’ll likely wait until spring.

I really like the Puma Commander, had a pair that lasted 5 years of regular use. I’m kind of a shoe hoarder, so my pairs don’t used everyday, but my Adidas SL75 also held up really well and I got my hands on a set of Nike AirMaxes 1 and I’m extremelly surprised with how comfortable and durable they have been so far.

I’ll second the merrells. I have a few pairs because I sometimes wear office shoes and I sometimes wear hiking shoes or boots, but they last forever.
Also I sometimes wear really thin-soled driving shoes (to me) but I don’t think they have an equivalent for men. Those are amazing though.

On a daily basis, I wear either a pair of Sperrys or a pair of Nike Roshe Runs.
I have a few pairs of Jordan Retros, but I prefer to not drive in them because they’re rather large due to my size 13 feet.

I usually get a couple years out of my Merrells and subject them to some pretty horrible shit. They’re my every day wear everywhere sort of shoe, unless the occasion calls for a dress shoe or toe protection. My current pair got broken in on a muddy and partially flooded 45-mile (two-day) hike a couple summers ago and it didn’t really go uphill from there for them. They see snow, slush, mud, etc, get hit with a hose and left in the sun and then they’re at the club the next day and then tromping around though weeds on a lake bed again while canoeing the day after. This time of year they get soaked with snow which melts and freezes, covered in salt... They don’t look very pretty any more but they’re not quite at the point of falling apart just yet.

I normally buy salamon or colombias but that is cause all other shoes are not comfortable to me. All other makes feel too tight, these are the only makes that feel wide enough.

Merrell. I am on my 4th or 5th pair. My winter boots are Merrell. My outdoor yard work shoes are Merrell. I have a 9air in my closet for when these ones wear out, in case I can’t find them again.
Super light, comfortable, durable,I can feel everything through them without too much difficulty and still be cushioned. I can feel my brake pedal and accelerator pedal when driving in a spirited fashion.

When I’m not working wearing my Magnums I can often be found wearing my Merrells. I’ve two pairs of TrailFrogs, one pair is 13 years old and the other 15 years old, and still going strong (one pair has a slight cut on).
The ten year old Chameleon Stretch went in the bin because the sole started to peel off.

Sperry Stripers are my defaults. I’ve been pretty happy with my nike free rn as a casual athletic shoe, and I have a pair of Reebok JJ1s I wear occasionally. I also really liked a pair of New Balance Minimus I had and have been thinking about another pair of those or a Nike Flyknit

training sneakers. Nike has some. lightweight(very important to me) & still have a nice not gaudy design and give my feet good room for extended wearing. I want to point out that isn’t a normal scenario for me getting a sneaker, and 2 days later or whatever I put the shoe on and don’t complain about something minor making me question the purchase.
I know the #Struggle JWT. :P

I like Puma, and New Balance. Nike and Adidas both fall apart in just 3 months. Usually the threads breakdown that hold the shoe together, or the inside cushion wears out. I don’t even run or play soccer in them.
