It is not in any way overhyped.

It is very much a hole in the wall. There isn’t much room to sit. The line, even at 3:30, was 10 people long. The menu is small. They don’t take cards. And to top it off, it is in the middle of nowhere.

It is a religious experience. The meat is tender, the vinegar sauce is hot, and the white bread soaks all of the flavor up.

If you are ever in Charleston or Myrtle Beach, go out of the way and visit.

Nice. That is ‘starred’ on my Google map, and is in my planned route from Charlotte to Charleston in March on the way to Amelia Island. I think I saw it on Bourdain.

It’s worth the drive. Though some of the roads through there are bad, even by SC standards.

Bourdain went there on his Charleston episode. Zimmern has been before as well. The owner is in the process of opening a restaurant in Charleston as well.

To all Oppos who are in, near or who may one day visit Toronto, I feel obligated to take advantage of this post and point out that this place is well worth the visit.

I’m partial to their bacon/Maple Syrup version.

Hmm, that is out of the way. I’ll keep it in mind, though, thanks for the recommendation.

Hot damn, I love Carolina BBQ.

My fellow midwesterners always look at me funny when I try to explain how delicious vinegar sauce is.

I know you have to put mustard in front of red because you’re in SC, but I’m going to respectfully disagree.
