Frankly they’re all too fast, confidence inspiring, and will attract too many boys.

May I suggest a Volvo brick or AMC 4x4 wagon?

The legend coupe. I used to own one in the same color, but with different wheels. It was a supremely good automobile for its time, and it is still a very good car today. Quick, quiet, solid and handles better than it should at that size, weight and weight distribution. If she starts on this, it will raise her expectations of automobiles for the rest of her life.

Prelude, because it’s the car I really wanted when I got my Civic about 10 years ago.

But from a more adult perspective, I’d probably go with the Tiburon, for more modern safety reasons. I didn’t have any stupid accidents in my first car but my sister had a tangle with a garbage truck and a ‘95 Legend wouldn’t handle that very well.

Am I picking a car for my 16 year old daughter?

If so The Hyundai. For one being the newest it’s mostly the safest, and the Prelude would make all the teenage boys think she’s cool and I don’t need that.

The 16 year old me would definitely date a girl with a Legend coupe.

Prelude if you can drive stick. The automatic transmissions were made of glass.

She needs somethign with 4/5 doors for all her friends when they’re going shopping. Trust me, 2/3 doors are annoying if need to load people in the back with any regularity...

The Prelude. It has an aura of classic sportiness. Also, you can fit friends, but not too many of them.

Prelude for the 16yr old, because by far the best looking and coolest car on the list. My daughter will probably get my 2006 Mazda 3. It has 10 air bags and a 150 HP engine so hopefully she won’t get up to to much stupid stuff.

I’m on the other side of that idea. Two doors and only one passenger seat. Friends in the car has been shown to double the risk of crashing for teenage drivers.

The Tiburon, if it’s a 4-cylinder manual. Hell, regardless of powertrain, really.

Sure, it’s not the most enthusiastic choice, but I don’t recall the Tiburon I took for a spin being exactly bad to drive. It’s a liftback, for more practicality. It’ll be safer than the Prelude, and far safer than the Acuras, most likely. I doubt the Acuras are manual, and that’ll be a useful skill to have, and it’s easier to learn things when you’re younger. Also, it makes distracted driving harder, and it may help reduce the incidence of DUI. (Going with a friend that has a manual and they get shitfaced? She can be the DD. Conversely, going with a friend somewhere in the Tiburon, and there’s alcohol? Maybe she won’t get shitfaced because nobody else can be the DD.)

Can you or your family work on it yourself? Who’s paying for gas and who is paying for repairs? Also how big of a deal is gas and repairs, some of the cars run on premium and older cars are more likely to need repairs. Although the newest one is still 9 years old

Barring that, the Tib. At least the rear seats are vestigial.
