The Korean and Japanese car makers used to rule the roost when it came to irretrievably bland white goods disguised as cars. I think the European arm of GM is winning now.

I think it works better there, though, because there’s plenty of equally funky styling decisions elsewhere. (Not that the C-HR is a pretty car by any means...)
The Astra hatchback’s floating C pillar strikes me as a last-second design-by-committee splash of funkiness that’s incongruent with the rest of the car’s styling.

I’ve come to love the C-HR, especially after seeing the TRD the other day.
Those funky little styling bits are appearing on everything these days.
Some small and almost unnoticeable and some glaring.

The GSi models of the nineties were actually pretty cool in my book. This stuff is just a lump of mechanized boredom and no amount of OPC-ing is going to make them better.
