But then I saw pics of it in daylight. Good lord, the stretching of proportions is amazing. And they pulled off that front end in a way that Aston Martin simply wasn’t able to do with the Vulcan. I shouldn’t have doubted Mazda.

The stretching of proportions is “cartoonish”...I think that was the word you were looking for...it’s like the designers were beaten with a stick regularly to chants of “longer.....lower....”

No, not cartoonish. The Toyota C-HR is cartoonish. This is like if the initial drawings came to life. Really rather cool.

T’was a commentary on Kinja’s borked-ness.

Hey, in the end, it’s design, people will disagree...I’m not a fan, but I’m probably not the demographic they’re going for.

I agree. Go bold or go home. It’s a cool looking car.

Still a bit to concept-y for me. Smaller wheels and everything toned down a bit would help.

The Vulcan is cooler and faster, but the Mazda is styled better. In a light color, the Vulcan looks kinda clumsy, with its super tall rear haunches and seemingly-unfinished front end.
