Out sick Monday and Tuesday. Snowstorm Tuesday night into Wednesday afternoon, up around a foot accumulated in a lot of areas, with drifts over 20" in places! I’m loving it. Went to the mountain for a beautiful powder day yesterday because the shop was closed. Was at work for maybe an hour today before leaving because there was nothing to do. Then did some shoveling and took the kid to the park with the snowboard, since we don’t have a sled (it never snows here like this!). We played in our posting area last night too since no one was coming in or out. So much fun!

That’s my driveway. Phone was held perfectly level when I took that shot. It was up to her knees so she kept falling over.

Freezing up here for weeks, but effectively zero snow. It’s warming up next week too. What a time to own a 4WD wagon -_-

This is our third snowstorm in about a month! I was able to get around in the 55 for the first two, but have had to use the wife’s R class this week. So I’m totally not jealous of you at all right now

Thought you weren’t driving the Tercel right now anyways though?

It’s plenty driveable. Not worried about dripping oil in some snow (outraged gasps ensue). But there is no snow with which to drip... upon.

Oh, that’s good then. I thought it was more serious than it is then. Wasn’t throwing stones or anything, my own car is currently garage bound till spring.

Ugh. Here it was -28 C (-18F) with 55 mph winds this morning.

It was so fucking cold. I almost died.

come here. They don’t plow the roads ever, and yesterday it was -28C (-18f) with 55 mph winds. Jesus H christmas, -18 is soooo cold when it’s that windy.

Ooh yeah I’ve experienced that. Not fun. Frostbite in under a minute sort of deal

The 540 on chains did acceptably well...

Acceptably well for 4" of ground clearance in this crap. On the bright side my front bumper was already ruined so I wasn’t flinching every 5 seconds when I heard it bottoming out.

Nice! I was curious how it was going for you. Chains would have been a good option for the 55, but really why bother when I can use the R? The only trouble spot was my driveway because it’s so steep.

I owned a 4wd truck for 1-1/2 winters. Barely saw any snow in that time ... in Chicago :/

Actually my first experience using chains despite living a couple decades on the east coast (where they actually plow :/ ). I’m impressed, didn’t get close to stuck anywhere, even in my unplowed driveway with about 3-4" more snow than I have ground clearance.

Nice. I’ve never used them, despite growing up in Minnesota and also having lived in Wyoming and Colorado.
