Finally got my results in, and I got....
118! Average is 100 (really?) and Average Range is ~85 to 114. So I didn’t score too badly. Combined with an SAT score of 1050, I could probably get to college!

I took a few IQ tests when I was in the public schools in the ‘60s and ‘70s. I got such terrific scores that it would be immodest to post them, and no one would believe me anyway. You’d think I’d have been successful, or at least happy.

IQ tests...had a discussion with a co-worker one time, he came into my office like “OMFG, why do I deal with idiots all day!!!!!” I calmly looked up and asked if he had taken an IQ test, he said yes. I said...well, knowing you, you probably scored decently high on it, but let’s just say you got a middle road score of 100. If you scored 100, on average, half of the people you encounter on a daily basis are less intelligent than you. If you scored higher, the percentage just goes up. If you scored 120, 90% of the people you encounter on a daily basis are less intelligent than you. Since we work at a very engineering intensive company, that *might* go down a little, but if you’re in public...the problem isn’t that you’re dealing with idiots...well, maybe it is, but it’s also that you expect everyone else to be as smart as you....they’re not. At least half of the people you encounter are dumber than you. Stop expecting so much.
While I said all of this with a straight face, I was primarily being a smart-arse...albeit a semi-accurate one. He paused for a second and then said “huh, never thought of it that way, you’re right, makes sense.”
Now, he still hates everyone, but still, I made a small impression for just that one day.

I took an IQ test in sixth grade and I got a 147, so they decided to put me in all of the gifted classes. I felt pretty proud of myself, but didn’t really care about any of the work (which is a major problem) and that seemed to the administrators. They retested me and I got a 150, but they knew I wouldn’t do anything and they put be back in the peasant classes. Did really well there, but when I went to high school I was in all honors classes so, as you can assume, I did zero work and now I’m a junior with a below average GPA. Kinda kicking myself for it...

I’m more or less in the same boat. Never really had the opportunity for special treatment for it due to having a highschool so small we only had three teachers, but I was way ahead of the rest of my class so I never really had to work hard, and still ended up best in class (with only a 90 average, lol). But then university hit me hard. Kicking myself because after 5 years (at two schools, I pretty much started over at the second) I ran out of money and dropped out with no degree.
