Very neat. Wheels on that little Mopar are godawful though.

Yeah, the Kragen hubcaps did it no favors. I do love old Valiants though, I’d daily one.

Kinja'd!!!

I generally don’t like Ferraris, nor anything about them, but I like this.

And what’s with that FoMoCo thing up top? *shudders*

Never understood the appeal of hubcaps.

You’re not fooling anyone.

You can have pictures of Daytona. That color was amazing, “Blue Sera Metalizzato”. Pretty sure this is the same car :

Not sure which one’s the Mopar, but the light blue sedan’s hubcabs (2nd pic) look nearly exactly like the one’s on my Integra. I guess it was too futuristic for it’s time. SMH sympathetically

I remember as a very small kid reading one of the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys joint mystery-solving books (don’t judge). They were in Hawaii and rented a Valiant. One of the characters called the Slant 6 out by name as being slow but dead reliable. It then broke down and lead to the group being captured by bad guys.

I was young and impressionable, and it took me a while to realize that the Slant 6 cars weren’t the Freelanders of their day.

I am ok with this theme, anything but red!

But red 928, Fiero, and 69 Sprite....

Or red 2002... should have specified, anything but red for Ferraris, other colors look so good on them.

The Lincoln is a Mark VII, which is actually on the Fox body platform.

Haha, the author must have been a Ford or Chevy person, I’ve never heard anyone call the Slant 6 itself anything but bombproof.

I thought it was a T-bird.

I bought a set of rims for Rusty, and I’m about to go buy 3 tires for $20 apiece. The ROP (VoTech?) has a tire machine and will mount them for me. Pics to follow, once the rain stops long enough.

Nobody can unlike a flat twelve, glory be thy name.

That Ford thing you have beheld is none other than the famed Lincoln MkVII LSC, for all intents and purposes a luxury Mustang GT.

01/12/2017 at 20:40, STARS: 0

So do I, which is why I like them. I still have a 1/24 model kit I built of a drag Lincoln LSC, in gray like this one. Loved them ever since.

It has a strong resemblance to the T-Birds of the day, which were also on the Fox Body platform.

Looking forward to seeing Rusty’s new shoes!

Yes, but does that Lincoln have the BMW turbodiesel under the hood? Bonus points if it does.

I don’t think the LSC version ever got that, but I know others did. Most have died by now because parts are hard to find and Ford guys never cared about it.

I hid the really good stuff. Wanted to share, but didn’t want to draw too much attention, you know. :) Hollywood is a horrible place, but I was walking back from the pub to my motel and had to stop for Johnny.

I really don’t know about LA, man. I just can’t get my head or heart into it, nor can my wife. We don’t like the idea of raising kids in that metropolis, and it’s even more expensive there than here. The car scene is insane, the music scene is insane... both great things, but not enough to outweigh other considerations, I think. Still, they liked my work and have promised an offer, and it’s at least on the table to work with them on an occasional basis (events, projects) if moving doesn’t happen. We shall see!

That rear of the 348 still is so glorious...

Tough decisions... I can imagine both car and music culture compensating a bit but all: probably not. You’re in a different phase of life now. This OPPOrtunity should have passed a long long time ago probably ;-)

Doing events and projects on somewhat of a freelance base sounds awesome as well. Still you’ll be working on these legends. Whatever you do: You’re a lucky man. Or at least gifted. ;-)

That 348 really is great, it’s a Speciale, lighter and with F40 seats and other goodies.

Thsnks, it’s a great opportunity to have, in any case. Definitely a mind expander!
