My 1961 Ford F100 has no blanks, but it has no features. Like, it doesn’t even have a way to control the temperature of the air coming into the cab from within the cab.
“Hey, can you turn the heat down?”
“Sure, just let me find a place to pull over.” No kidding.
But to your question, my 2001 suburban was the worst offender of this phenomenon. My current ‘03 bmw wagon doesn’t have any blanks. They leave space, but don’t put blank buttons in....

ZERO. Granted Crossfire’s had like no options. I do think it might be the only car that gives you a blank button as you go up in trim levels. The SRT has a blank where the base has spoiler switch.

I don’t think neither Kristin nor Valka have any blank buttons. I do know Valka’s voice button on the steering doesn’t work (read: I don’t know how to operate it). And Kristin is a 2006 model, the 2007s onwards have a blank Stabilitrak button.

My 95 530i has 3. One is for an option I can’t get (rear fog light), and I think the other two are to switch the headlight switches to the other side of the cluster for RHD.

I might have years ago on some Mazda forum. They’re coin holders from a Protege, I had them in my Mazda5. They just snap in.

My Leon has only 2 that I can see, one for the missing front parking sensors (which were standard on my model until like 2 months before it was built!!) and one for the headlight height adjusters, which mine doesn’t have as it has the LED headlights that auto adjust. Our Citroen DS4 doesn’t seem to have any (it’s D-Sport model and is fully optioned!).

Three. One would be for fog lights. The other two are apparently for center stack lock and window switches, but are labeled Not in Use in the manual, so apparently Volvo gave up on those or never used them in the US (don’t seem that helpful regardless).

Unless you count the panel where the 4x4 control would go next to the air vents, zero on my base model S10. GM is generally pretty good about not leaving blanks and modifying button/panel design to accommodate more or less options.
