Kinja'd!!!

Damn.

Kinja'd!!!

No, really, just...

Kinja'd!!!

OK, two niggles. One, profile view makes the front look too short. Two, it needs new wheels. Preferably 7-spoke ones. Also, probably no manual+diesel unless I pay more for it, but two of the three little problems can be fixed with a custom order. Otherwise... Lawd Jesus.

The body looks so great, but its got too much wheel and too much clearance. It looks like it started with different wheels but was upsized after the fact

When I saw the offical pics from the auto show floor, I bought lottery tickets and scratch offs in an attempt to buy one of these beautiful machines.

Kinja'd!!!

I love that they haven’t done what nearly everyone else is doing with wheel arches/fender “flares” these days, which is chopping them flat off. That detail I love.

Indeed...other than the fact that it will be order only, which I totally understand and at least give props to Volvo for offering it, it’s not going to be all that quick givent the R-design and it will be hella expensive.

It looks like it’s on 20" when a 17" would do.

I’ll call opposaurus.

I think there is an aero/mpg reason for that.

Wheels look too big and rims are too thin, with next to no sidewall. How about you try on smaller GT350R carbon wheels? Please ‘shop.

I think 17" look too small, 18" look perfect.

The front looks too short??? I ’ d say it looks slightly, stress only slightly, too long. Makes it look a little to much like a ‘ 70's American station wagon. I actually think it is probably about right, just too flat, needs a little more shape to it, maybe a bit more curve.

I sure hope to god those wheels are optional, or just for marketing, they look like aftermarket wheels some boy racer would spend $6k on to put on his $500 Honda Civic. They look like they would be fantastic sitting on a shelf, but all wrong on a car, especially on a Volvo estate car.

I love that a Manual is at least a possibility. I was so gutted when I learned that Alfa would not bring the Giulia to the US with a manual, even on the QV model. I ’ ve been left wondering what to get since an Alfa is now out, unless they change course for 2018.

I’m sure you’re right. I wonder if this car gets away with it because of the overall lower profile. Like, if everyone wasn’t making their cars taller for no good reason, maybe the fender chop wouldn’t be as big of a thing? But I guess if it helps MPG, then it will help at any level. It just annoys me...

I meant that the lower bumper looks too crimped. Otherwise, good points.

The only issue I have with it it’s the little bit of the light that goes into the hatch, other than that it’s a perfect looking thing.

My only gripe is that those wheels are too aggressive for the car.

Sized down 1-2 inches and with less negative area (more spokes with thicker coverage), this would be classier than Philosophy 101.
