Company, maybe. A marque would just be like a family name though. Like there are plenty of people named Smith who aren’t related, just like the Falcon is far removed from the Ka. So if you get married do you rebadge yourself? Is that how the 9-2x happened? Or maybe that was just mommy Subaru Loyale and daddy Saab 900 getting it on. I don’t know, not all the parallels line up.

In the original Cars movie, Mack exclaims “Praise the manufacturer you’re alive!” when McQueen is found. On the walls of the Carburetor County courthouse you see images of cars descending from large factories. So I’m assuming that auto companies are analogous to gods in their world.
