They keep saying BS marketing speech like “Revolutionary” and “we tore up the rule book”, but it’s a nice update to a bike I intensely desire.
765cc motor with three different models with three different power levels. I just hope they didn’t drive the price up too much. Here’s the deets from Triumph’s website

I was surprised to see they went with three different power levels, but I guess it gives buyers all the more reason to want to jump to the R or RS models.
I’m super excited to see how this compares to the 790 Duke whenever KTM decides to let that thing loose.

only think I dont like is that RS is only black or matt silver. I’m kinda over black bikes, and I dont want to take care of a matt finish...

The Triumph Triples look super sexy in white so that Street Triple R is calling my name

The different power levels are a surprise. Who in their right mind will go for the base?

IDK about you, but I think i found the replacement for the SV....could it be? the Sv wrangler to become the triumph trainer? DUN DUN DUNNNNN

This or the upcoming KTM 790s are feeling just about right. As long as the duke ends up being the less touring-y lighter angrier little brother to the superduke, I’ll have a hard time saying no. Then again, the striple has always kinda been the rich kid’s SV (not that that’s a bad thing at all!) and will only get better this generation. Would look pretty good next to my beater triumph too ;)
...That or a Tuono (my god I want a Tuono so bad) but the maintenance I wouldn’t be able to tackle myself, small tank, ethanol issues all prevent me from going that route.

truth be told, the SV will have 80K miles on it by the end of next riding season. shes a tired bike at this point. eager to go. but she needs some rest.
2 years. 100K miles. then I’ll replace it.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a bike as reliable! The SV has forever spoiled me and my expectations regarding the reliability and longevity of a motorcycle engine. I don’t think there exists another motor that so routinely goes past 100K with only basic maintenance.

ugh, I know, and thats what scares me. I get the feeling that i’m going to buy triumph and it ends up being a lemon or something and I sell it only to go BACK to the SV.

To be fair, my Hinckley classic triple seems to be in decent shape after 35K of what I can only assume is terrible neglect and maintenance avoidance.

I would, if the pricing is right. But that’s a big if.

What can I say, I fell in love with that triple cylinder character. Got the room and it’s not like she’s depreciating further. Plus sometimes es riding a “cruiser” just feels like the right thing to do :)
