Here’s a simple one, whats the greatest difference in HP between 2 cars you have owned.

I ll go first- 455 (2017 Camaro) - 37 (2000's Maruti Suzuki 800 ) = 418

So basically this:

Kinja'd!!!

VS this:

Kinja'd!!!

UPDATE:

Top of the pile so far. Interestingly both vehicles of each have the same manufacturer.

I haven’t owned very many powerful cars. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever topped out above 221 hp. My car history shows I like a fat low-mid range curve. My lowest was probably 120 hp

Minimum was 115 from my Mini. Max was 165 from my old Outback.

200 would be the difference between the 540 and the jetta.

Hell, even if I cheat, there’s only like a 300hp difference between the 540 and my weakest scooter.

I need to own more cars. I’ve only owned 2, with a 110 hp difference.

190 hp - 1988 Celica All-trac

300 hp - 2006 350Z

That’s a good range for “slow car fast” though. 120 hp is enough to get moving and feel fast (much less horsepower and the car better be reaaaaalll light) while 221 is “about as much as i can comfortably use on the street” levels of horsepower.

Not a huge difference, but definitely noticeable.

207.

58 HP in an 85 Honda CRX. 265 HP in a 94 Caprice 9C1.

That Caprice is by far the outlier though. Nothing else I’ve owned has been north of 167 hp. I desperately need a LS1 in my life.

The 120 was in a gen 1 rav4, and while it was slow as a dog, it didn’t weigh much (2800 lbs) and it the 5 speed made the most of it. The Torsen rear lsd made it pretty fun in the corners too. The 221 was in the 5 speed forester XT and that...was a quick car.

I’ll play: 182hp

The lowest HP would be the 1988 Acura Integras at 118, with the highest being 300 in the 93 Corvette. Funny enough, I still own an example of each car. The 93 LT1/6 speed vette is my current daily driver, and one of the 88 integras is my SCCA ITA class racecar.

The difference in torque is even bigger: 426 ft/lbs. The 88 integras would still be the least amount of tourqe at 99 ft/lbs. My old 2002 F250 7.3 power stroke would top the list at 525 ft/lbs. If limited to cars only, the 93 vette would be at the top with 340 ft/lbs for a difference of 239 ft/lbs.

I started with 110 hp (ha!) in my ‘84 Gutless Ciera, and my max horsepower was the 381 hp in my ‘10 Tundra, so a difference of 271 hp on paper. In reality the Ciera wasn’t making anywhere near claimed power by the time I started driving it, so the difference is probably closer to 300 hp.

190 HP (1995 Nissan Maxima) vs. 271 HP (2010 Accord Coupe V6) = 81 HP difference.

I did not have a shitcan as a first car, and I haven’t personally owned any “real” sports cars, so my gap is pretty small. My current GTI is rated at 210, but really makes more like 250 from the factory, and mine is tuned for something more like 280 or 290 (at the crank, not WHP).

220hp Difference.

Max: 340hp - Dodge Magnum R/T

Min: 120hp - Chevy S10 2.2L

Unless you count the car my parents owned for my brother and I to learn on. Then it’s 250hp difference, with a minimum of 89hp*.

*There’s no way that 4cyl Mustang still had all of those 89 hp when I was driving it.

‘98 accord-114 hp on a good day, I figure it’s making like 95 on an average day. Mercedes S600-factory stated 493 hp, but apparently it pushing closer to 540 at the crank. On paper that’s a 379 hp difference but in actuality it’s closer to 440 hp.

289 HP.

Back in ‘04-’05 I owned both my most powerful and weakest vehicles with the biggest power spread at the same time.

I had a ‘98 Trans Am WS6 that, with just a catback and lid+filter, dyno’d 335 RWHP, so figuring a 15% driveline loss was producing about 385 HP.

My daily driver at the time was a little ‘90 Isuzu P’up that, at least when new, was rated at 96 HP at the crank. It wasn’t fast or quick, but with the 5-speed manual it was a joy to drive, handy, efficient (I’d sometimes see 28 mpg with mostly city driving), and was basically indestructible. I loved that truck and miss it dearly.
