I knew it was a thing(the 2nd gen GS had the 1Uz option and later a 3UZ) but I think I have only seen one prior to this. They are super, super rare.

They are cool. Apparently the GS450H is the one to have though. Was told by a Lexus guy out of the IS-F,GS460, etc that the GS450H is the scary quick one.

Here’s my unofficial test for how rare a car like this is.
There are currently 3,350 used Lexus GSs for sale on Cars.com. Of those 3,350, only 16 are GS460s.

Drove a GS450h for an extended time a year or so ago.
Sure it’s quick in a straight line. But it’s so heavy it handles like a fat, wallowy whale on dry land.
The interior is also cramped and very dated, especially with the cherry wood. Gag.
The new GS is better in every way.

I was looking at the GS line a few months ago, but ended up buying a 2004 Infiniti g35 because it was half the price and I liked the style of the g35 better.
Fun car but definitely not the refinement of the Lexus. Various squeaks and rattles, weird shit like the dome light broken. But my car is super simple to work on since its just a rear drive maxima basically. And lots of forums and cheap parts available since its such a popular car.

One of our neighbors has a 2006 M35 and both my dad and I love it because it is very nice inside and they have sooo little trouble with it.
