I’m curious about what engine they’ll put in it. If their really going for a bare bones truck, I’d think an ecoboost would be too expensive. Do they still use the Duratec engines?

Lower the belt line a bit and it would help without hurting the look too much, but yea, it’s a bit tall

Not sure, but being a small truck they don’t need the put the twin turbo V6 or anything crazy in it. I think for the Ranger to be a hit, no matter how it looks, it needs the be priced around $25-28k with the base engine and 4x4.

The 2.3 ecoboost would be plenty for a mid range engine, Ford seems to use it in a ton of products already

Base model, 4 cyl, non 4wd will probably check in around that price. Base Chevy Colorado WT is $24k and change. (Chevy claims you can get a Colorado starting at $21k, but good luck finding one.) Probably closer to $29k for a low-mid content 4wd model. I’d also guess that they won’t even offer a regular cab. It’ll start at extended.

You can get a 4x4 f150 regular cab short bed for $31k MSRP...I would hope they could at least get the ranger down to $27-28k

The Bronco will be more expensive than the Ranger. SUVs always cost more than the pickups they’re based off of. If they actually go to the trouble of a removable roof option (which I’d love, but I doubt they’ll do), that’ll be even more expensive. I hate how expensive vehicles have become, but the reality is what it is.
