Kinja'd!!!

They don’t believe in traction with any form of snow or ice. Trying to stop from 40 kilometres an hour? Good luck. 1/10 would never recommend and have made this Elantra GT the least safe feeling vehicle I’ve ever driven, which includes a Civic where the power steering failed while driving.

I had good results with Dunlop Graspic’s before. I had them on 2 of my cars.

not the best tire, but for the price wasn’t that bad.

I dunno, I have frequent wheel spin when accelerating with very little gas, stopping is not at all confidence inspiring, I don’t trust them at all. It could be that the roads here aren’t great (which they aren’t), but... eugh, I’d never buy them after this.

I’m thinking used, which could also be an issue. Reading online, people seem to be complaining about how long they last (or lack thereof).

DS2 are old, I had some when I bought my protege5 new in 2003, also had some on my 97 civic hatch before that.

I bought DS-3 for my wifes 2011 elantra, which are on their last year. Will change car or tires for next winter.

when new I found them to be better than average winter tires, They are no way Blizzaks but for less than half the blizzaks price they are good.

Good to know, thanks for the heads up. Told my girlfriend that if she plans on keeping this for next winter, new tires should be in the forecast.

DS-2s were on my buddy’s Saturn SL2 when I bought it - 10 years ago.

how’s the siping on the tires? usually with studless snows once it gets down to about 4/32" the tread is basically an “all season” compound in firmness, and the sipes have mostly worn off. This is what the DS-2 is supposed to look like new:

Yeah, they definitely don’t look like that.

I’m a firm beliver in Bridgstone Blizzaks. I am on season 5 with the WS70's on my Mazda. Granted they almost never see dry pavement so they are not wearing very fast.

Those sound like the Goodride Avalanche shitty winter tires my car came with. In terms of winter grip, they perform about the same or slightly worse than the Nordman WR 4 season tires (made by Nokian) I subsequently bought.

And in all other ways, they’re much worse than the Nordmans
