Apologies if I’m approaching (or crossing) the “spam” line. I figure this car is of interest to Opponauts, which is why I’m sharing more info about it.

I like that they kept the name “stinger” for the production car.

Me too - it’s a great name. Some might think it’s too close to Stingray, but apparently the lawyers are OK with it, or it would’ve been renamed by now. Remember when Toyota’s full size pickup was going to be called the T-150 (they already had the T-100 midsize), and Ford objected?

And when Aston Martin have to give up the GT3 name because Porsche objected? I sometimes think companies should tell the lawyers to jump in a lake and give us consumers more credit.

I really like the look, I think the engine options are both pretty decent - the TT V6 and AWD would be a great combo, but even that turbo four should still be a decent amount of power for most people. I think the turbo four with AWD will be the most popular drivetrain config, but I guess we’ll see.

My wife’s Ford Flex has AWD and a 355hp twin turbo V6, and it’s plenty fast. Something similar in a smaller car that doesn’t handle like a box on wheels would be pretty cool. Though I suspect the 4-banger’s 255hp is plenty for many people. I think it mainly depends on pricing, which hasn’t been announced and will seriously make or break this car.
