Sometimes rural living has its perks.

...like this beautiful sunset tonight.

My husband and I were painting our living room ceiling when I stopped our progress to snap this photo:

Kinja'd!!!

Of course the reason we were painting after daylight ended is that we ran out of plastic to cover the walls and I had a 20 minute drive to the nearest Walmart to pick up a few more rolls. The nearest Lowe’s or Home Depot or is 45 minutes away, and while that’s certainly annoying, sometimes we are repaid with sunsets like these.

And the ceiling turned out nice also.

That brings back a memory of a sunset I captured after a hurricane rolled through. Nothing quite like the beautiful calm after the storm

If that’s what the phone photo looks like, I can’t imagine how much more amazing it was IRL...

It was incredible. There are some great sunsets in the summer time pretty consistently but they are absolutely dwarfed by the ones we get in the winter.

I have a ton more I can post.

The way the clouds look like they’re almost “basket-weaved” is especially cool.

Kinja'd!!!

I hear ya. This was at a friend’s cabin... but at least I can see a lot of stars on a clear night in my backyard.

What type of camera was that photographed with? That’s an absolutely beautiful photo.

Believe it or not, it was with my LG G5 cell phone. And this was the lower-res (wide angle) lens on it. I gave it a couple small tweaks on PhotoShop (also on the phone). I had it printed on canvas and it’s hanging above my stairs.
