The use of a quality camera really makes a difference. Above were ones taken by Beepi, bellow is one I took with my iPhone.

I googled the VIN of my 128i, and came across pictures of it when it was listed by BMW of CC for sale. Naturally I saved them all, wish I had done the same with my M3.

I just wish it had been a manual.

I always liked that car. A quick CL search shows they’re quite inexpensive, although I only found 1 manual locally. $13k for 55k miles.

I don’t normally like red cars but it really is a nice shade, it’s called “Vermilionrot Metallic - A82" aka “Vermilion Red Metallic” or at least that’s the official paint code.

They have become quite inexpensive, I paid 16k in October 2015 for that one with 48k on it. If I was going to do it again, I’d get a manual for sure.

generally, i agree. the only odd dimension is the rear fender. the space between the top of the wheel arch and that crease above it could be shorter. or a larger diameter tire?

anyway, yeah... i do like the 1 series. reminds me most of an e30.

Did you miss xenon headlights at all? That would be another one of my musts.

Probably fix that gap with a larger tire.

I sort of thought of the 1 series as a more modern e36.

To be honest not really, they headlight were actually pretty good. The xenon headlights on my M3 are better, but the ones on the 1 did the job just fine. I didn’t find myself wishing it had the xenons.

It’s the closest thing you can get to an E30 you can get with out having a 30 year old car.

By “sleepers,” like, underappreciated by the collective motoring / enthusiast public and hence undervalued.

Personally hoping no one notices — admittedly selfishly, as far as affects ppl who have 1's to sell — so they stay easier for us to buy! Just thinking of what’s probably going to happen if 1ers become a thing, like happened with the E30 M3 or now, pretty much any E30 that’s not destroyed.

When you’re back in the workforce (hopefully happening on your preferred schedule), buy 12 of ‘em!

Ah I see what you mean.

I’m just gonna buy the 135is from my dad when he decided to get rid of it, at that time it’ll probably have a total of 40k on it.
