that the new Citroen SpaceTourer/Jumpy comes in three lengths:

Small, regular, and reaaaaaalllllllllllllyyyyyyyy long.

Can someone tell me why this exists when the Nemo, Berlingo and, Jumper are also available?

Oh, and the Jumper has four different wheelbases of its own too. Because apparently you need nine vans each just barely longer or taller than the other. We made do with something like two Econoline variants for many, many years; what’s the issue with you Yurrupeans?

Some might favor the shorter wheelbase base for better city driving (does tight corners better). Buyer’s for cargo vans have specific needs. It I was contracter in the city I opt for the SWB.

Actually 10 because the Berlingo also comes in 2 sizes:

I get why you would get the long Jumpy because the Jumper is really tall, however I don’t get why the short one exists, why not get the Berlingo instead? Is it made for people who want a van with a really short nose?

Actually, now that you mention it, that kind of makes sense. Maybe the Berlingo’s more C3-like cabin makes the thing more normal to drive than, say, the Jumper.

Variety I guess.

Many come in van form, crewcab form

It’s the same with Ford and pretty much all the rest of them.

Some countries have size restrictions on vans, cut offs for tax breaks, some don’t need much space and some need to move not heavy but large items.

Vans are the backbone of many European countries.

The sector that the Jumpy/Dispatch is going in to is one of the biggest, so it makes sense to offer as many variations as possible. It’s going to take some berlingo sales, but that’s an older and cheaper vehicle- starts at £9K- so pushing people up to the slightly larger van may be more porfitable.

The Nemo is basically dead now, Citroen have said that volume sales go for the Berlingo as it’s cheaper to lease and a more useful size.

You can get the Transit in three lengths and two heights. Also fwd, rwd or both.

But not in America.

Nemo = Subcompact.

Berlingo = Compact.

Spacejumpy = Mid-size.

Jumper = Full-size.

Different sizes because everything that comes out of the Sevel factory gets a huge amount of variants. Also I guess Jumpy = long, Jumper = high. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sevel

I was hoping you’d include Talbot, my favorite PSA brand! (Just kidding.)

I do like a good Talbot, but I think my favorite PSA brand has to be Citroen followed closely by Peugeot.

Talbot made many bland cars, though many cool ones as well.
