7 year old bald 240TW summer Nittos aren’t great in a Kansas witner so I picked up this LS Meshes with tires for $120 on Craigslist. Three of the tires are more or less shot but the tire size is far cheaper than the 16" low-profile tires on my OEM wheels.

They definitely fill the wheel well out a lot better and are about 1.5 inches taller than my stock tires so the car rides a bit higher, which is an odd feeling. As much as I hate black wheels they kinda jive well with my black hardtop and windshield frame. Dammit. I hate black wheels. No. Gotta paint them some color. CAR NEEDS COLOR DAMMIT.

How’s the clearance between the inner barrel of the wheel and the banjo bolt on the front brake calipers?

Also, welcome to 15" land!

A hairs breadth. It’s actually impressive. Thoughts on what color I should paint these? I’m thinking monster energy green :D

Black but leave one set of spokes green (or vice versa)? Aka, Ken Block style?

Also, yeah, I have a maybe 1/2 cm of clearance between banjo bolt and wheel barrel at best. When I took and washed off my old bronze wheels after mounting the black copies, one of them had an impressive scratch that was caused when a pebble got wedged in there from years ago.

Double-also, have you noticed that your speedometer is more accurate than it used to be? Back when I was rolling on 205/50R15s, I was off by almost 5 mph at one point but now it’s down to 2 to 2.5 mph with these 195/55R15s. I can’t remember how far off it was with the original 16" twists on Riken Raptors.

So paint each spoke a different color?

One orange spoke could be kinda cool... or black with one blue spoke... or every spoke a different color (lol hell no that’s too much work)...

And yes. My speedo has always been 5mph fast but I haven’t checked to see if it’s closer to what it should be now.

What kind of tires do you plan on getting? What tire size is it?

As for the rims, paint them gold

Black with two of the sixteen spokes painted blue (Mariner Blue preferred) would be sweet.

I’m thinking gunmetal grey with two of the sixteen spokes painted Chrysler metallic blue.

Time to go get some gunmetal grey... I’m thinking some duplicolor stuff. Should be fairly durable, right?

Should be but I suggest giving it at least 2-3 coats just to be safe.

Hmm, same here. Gunmetal alone looks sweet enough.
