When Ford owned Mazda and Aston Martin in 2005, one shared part was the cabin air filter. The DB9 uses the same filter as the RX-8 and MPV, which means it is also open to the same aftermarket filters.

In addition to debris, this ATP unit also filters odors that the stock unit doesn’t. Also, this is $15.99, while an OEM DB9 filter is at least $50.

The more interesting one is that the W451 Smart ForTwo uses almost the same cabin filter as a Toyota Camry.
So, $15 instead of $40, as my dad found out.

Toyota used different branded spark plugs for each bank of cylinders on the 5VZ V6. Because they had a deal that 2 companies would supply half each.

The DB7 used NA Miata interior door handles, Mazda 323 rear light amongst others. Even the Koenigsegg Agera has RX7 reverse light units.

My dad said it was very common to have that with toyota. 3VZ was the engine that came to mind. He said in almost every V6 that was the case since the inception of Toyota’s V6 in 1989 or so to the mid to late 90s.
