that are better suited with an automatic.

Kinja'd!!!

The V12 Vantage S. It’s a big comfy GT car, no need for a manual.

Have you ever seen a vantage? Big isn’t a word I’d use to describe it. Reviews suggest it isn’t all that comfy either.

False. Manual’s belong in light sports cars, not heavy GT cars.

^ except the ‘auto’ versions have transmission issues. Plus those V12s are riddled with valve issues.

I believe Chris Harris said he preferred the M4 was the DCT. I found that interesting

If you can afford newer V12 Aston Martin you can afford the meintence costs.

Its not about the cost.

Cost is relative.

A $160,000 car might have $20,000 repair bills in the same way a $16,000 car might have a $2,000 repair bill.

The problem is, if you bought a $16,000 car and it was in the shop say every 500 miles because something went wrong in the transmission again, you wold be upset.

In the same sense, When your Aston is in the shop again and again for transmission issues...

The only difference between a $16k car and a V12 Aston (or similar) is that 500 miles is a longer time frame as these cars don’t get driven on a daily basis (in most cases).

Kinja'd!!!

The manual on this car was not good at all. I’d say same for the last generation Spark too. Yes, I know the auto option for both is a CVT, but I stand by it.

I have an auto, I was raised on manuals, went 6 years with a licence without touching an auto.

Can’t we just agree for the most part that it matters not? Also, having never driven or ridden in a Juke I can’t state what sort of transmission it should have.

I’ve driven both. The manual is better then the CVT, but it’s not good manual.

Any car your going to drag race, auto’s have gotten so good its rendered manuals pretty much obsolete in most drag classes. There are a handful of gear jammers that are still competitive, but consistency is the thing you just cant match of an auto. so stick cars are only good if running a stick only class.

Man, I was spoilt when I had a miata. The box was amazing, I do dislike a bad manual though, I drove my sisters first gen focus (euro one) and it felt awful and the gear know was hollow plastic.

disagree - the V12 Vantage is the perfect manual transmission car. It’s all about driving the car, nothing else. It’s never going to be the absolute fastest so why not enjoy it.

The DB9 maybe, not the V12 Vantage! This is not the big comfy GT, this is the big engine in the small car. It’s the firecracker of the bunch.
