Saskatoon is cold and it burns my lungs. Also, riding/driving in an Elantra GT this week, and it’s great. Could use a bit more punch, but the turning radius is tiny. The roads here... man, they are covered in ice/snow/sand and are fairly confusingly laid out. It’s gonna be a strange week. How’s everyone else’s day going?

What all are you doing there? It’s a great city, it just happens to be made up of a bunch of small towns with road networks that don’t line up. Part of the reason I like it so much. I mean, as much as I like any city. But you’ll figure it out... eventually. Also as you’ve discovered the side streets may not always get cleared. And if you’ve got a small car try to avoid driving in the ruts... I’ve taken chunks out of the packed snow with my Jeep’s diffs. You’re lucky they haven’t had much snow so far this year.

Out here for an interview with the city. And I really like it. It’s a damn pretty town. Sure is different from Toronto.

Good to know. I haven’t a damn clue where the lines are on these streets.

Most people seem to forget. If the ruts aren’t too deep it’s usually a safe bet to follow them.

If you’re looking for things to do, Amigo’s Cantina (well, Amigos something or other) is a great live music venue. Winston’s pub has over 100 beers on tap, the university campus is a beautiful place, although it is still a university, although the campus is connected to the Meewassin trail, which is great, along the river... It’s been too long since I moved away. The Western Development Museum’s supposed to be great. I’ve got a friend who volunteers with restoring antique cars there, but I’ve never been. Not much in the way of decent driving roads, though. Spadina along the west side of the river isn’t bad, but it’s not great. Once you’re out of the valley though... Well let’s just say welcome to Saskatchewan.
