I am getting pissed at this gate. I had to habe a new motor put in after the old one died and parts were no longer available. This fucking thing was supposed to be the best there is, bit now it has failed for a second time.
That blue plastic disc turns with the arm, and you can see the maroon plastic pieces attached to it that hit the switches that stop the motor in the open or closed positions. In the bottom photo, the switches are the back parts mounted on the red platforn. When the disc misaligns, the gate doesn’t know when to stop. Tonight, it opened too much and hit the base, triggering the godawful loud impact alarm.
This thing cost too much to be this unreliable.

Do you know what is making the disc become misaligned? If you don’t know, you need to find out. That is probably the root of it all.
If you can’t figure out why the disc is distorting or becoming misaligned. Try extending or widening the maroon pieces that contact the switches, so even if the disc becomes misaligned it can still actuate the switch.

Seems like there should be some sort of up-down pivot (like a hinge) in the arm off to the gate to tolerate misalignment.
