I looked at one from a dealer for $18k (this was a few years ago) it was an ‘07, manual, nice condition overall. THAT one might have been ok. But I looked at the service records and it was like, 6-9 months of no issues, routine maintenance, then BAM $1,500 for something. Then 6-9 months more normal operation, great... then another $1,000. Amazingly consistent, and this was a lifetime dealer-serviced car. Granted, part of the high cost was, in fact, the dealer pricing and the dealer approach of things like “replace entire body computer module system and wire harness” probably to fix a simple fault. I walked. And my DD is a 14-year-old BMW.

Friend has an s60r that I found but didnt buy. 1 Owner 86k miles when he bought it, $6000 because it was an auto, but zero problems so far. My reasoning is just that regardless of the entry price into one of these you may end up with a 4 figure repair out of nowhere, so why not buy in at $2500 for a reasonably maintained one and save some money for repairs.

Wow, yeah theres a reason I said somebody buy this instead of dropping $2500 which I have to spend on a ticking timebomb. I love my current car, and it will survive for about 2 more years, when I will buy an LS2 GTO .

I’m doing a lot better than I was during that whole ordeal, that’s for sure.
Still not 100 but taking each day as it comes. Hoping for a good 2017 and planning on making some huge changes by the end of the year.
