Kinja'd!!!

Whilst traveling through the Lakemont area at an intersection, a woman in a Q7 stopped, blocked her entire lane (only one out, too), and got out and started rubbing the windshield with her gloved hand. Upon further inspection, she had left her house having only scraped a 2" x 2" square of visibility through her windshield, and said to herself, “That’ll do it.”

Once she realized the error of her ways, she elected -- instead of pulling over -- to simply just block traffic. The amount of effort and enthusiasm as she attempted to de-ice her windshield via... uh, glove friction... left something to be desired. Certainly not the movements of someone who cares that they are blocking traffic.

Ah Bellevue, another place that makes one wonder how people obtain their money. Lakemont is a gem - the Q7 probably lives in one of the endless rows of pressboard-and-face brick mcmansions, the second largest investment in the household relegated to living outside on the driveway so a few hundred bucks worth of clutter can occupy the garage. Add a dose of entitled obliviousness to the mix, and welcome to the eastside.

It’s even better in the snow.

We’ve got a Bellevue here in NY that would suit her just fine.

I have an irrational hatred of Audi drivers. I drive through Lakemont at least twice a day.   Coincidence? I think not.

I didn’t realize there were oppos so close lol. Even worse then that are the people that crawl up the hill or brake way too early on that long drive down lakemont.

Ah in reference to when there is snow on the ground. When it snows I prefer people think of the people behind them.

In the dry, that speedlimit seems way too low for that hill, in highschool we used to get up that hill pretty swiftly.

Some kid with iced-over windshield struck my wife whilst she was out jogging 15 years ago. Broke her leg and banged her up pretty good. Damned dumbass kid...

It is a little slow going up for sure... However I’m not sure my Tercel could even hit 35.

I had a Honda Odyssey following me that was consistently braking waaaaay too late. I was scared she was going to rear-end me.

I had someone going up the hill when snow was on the ground and they couldn’t remember their turn so they were slowing down at every cross street. I was screaming my brains out as I had a little FWD car that barely had made it up to that point when they slowed down and I started rolling backwards down the hill with my brakes locked. Reverse was true as well, someone braked way too early and it was still a steep incline I saw the three cars following them have to jut to the left and to the right to avoid running into the back of them. People really don’t know how to drive in the snow/cold up here.

One time last year I had to herd a lady to the side of the road on a quiet street near my house. She was weaving all over, and once I got her to stop, I could see that her windshield and windows were completely covered in ice. She wasn’t even elderly, maybe 40 at most. The exchange went something like this:

Me -“What the hell is wrong with you? You’re all over the road, in the oncoming lane, and your car is covered in ice”

Her - “Oh, I can’t see”

Me - “.........IF YOU CANT SEE. WHY ARE YOU DRIVING YOUR CAR.”

Her - “Uhh. I. Uhhm.”

Me - “Do not start driving again until you can clearly see out all your windows. You’re a grown human, why do you need told this”

She was trying to wipe the ice off with her sleeve when I drove away.

No, but his father’s insurance company paid a settlement and the attorney(s) took advantage of my wife. After telling us that he really liked us. He thought her claim would be worth more money when he took it...

A high-up leader of the church I belong to, once mentioned that he’d been an attorney, but that he had repented.

Even over here where frosted windshields are extremely common in winter I’m shocked by the number of people I see who don’t own (or use) an ice scraper. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to offer up one of my scrapers (I have a small one and one attached to a snow brush) to people in parking lots. Morons.

My life got considerably better when I got a job outside of Bellevue. The amount of door dings and bumper scratches went down a ton.

not surprised - lots of new money up there now. In a side note, I can confirm you can go 97 mph on Lakemont in a Ford Grenada with the 302, (make sure you brake early for the turn at Red Town trailhead.)

Too busy being important to pay attention to what is right in front of your face. Yep, Bellevue. Most residents need a bumper sticker stating they are an “entitled little pretty princess” so any unnecessary interaction can be avoided.

Yep that sounds about right. The Chrysler dealer in Bellevue ended up backing two different cars into stuff (one into a pole, the other into a hill, leaving a 1/2 cup of dirt in the muffler). Both times they tried to weasel out of it. Now I go to Renton where they actually respect other people’s stuff. Going to Bellevue is like a surgical strike for me - get in, get out, minimize casualties.
