I have Anthem dental for my insurance. Been paying since June 2016, and guess who just said they haven’t received payment ever... Anthem. But wait! I have Chase statements showing me paying every single month; so now it’s sit on hold for hours at a time... Really handy when I’m trying to work too. If you’re considering Anthem, change your mind and don’t get them.

NSX for your time.

If you don’t mind me asking, what does procedure cost if you paid cash VS what you paid insurance company?

I don’t have dental insurance and I find it ridiculously cheap and also sometimes negotiable to just pay cash.

If I understand it correctly, insurance company collects your money and pays a little to your doctor when they think its appropriate. Whatever doctor is missing might be coming out of your pocket. Thereby doctor gets paid, insurance get paid, and you’re bent over barrel.

Nice NSX, but I prefer my 1989 Integra 2 dr 5 spd LS

Well ... that really depends what you’re doing and what your insurance looks like ...

Go AFLAC for dental, much easier.

Well, I would usually do that. But I have/had receding gums. So I needed a $3000 surgery done to correct it at the advise of 3 separate dentists. So, that’s why im on insurance. Plus I write it off since im a freelancer/self employed

Hey man, give them a break. Now that the pre-existing condition scam is illegal, they actually have to try to make an effort to fuck you over now. It’s hard out there for those multibillion dollar conglomerates who are now accountable to their customers, some of which have the nerve to expect a product in return for their money. I mean really! Won’t someone PLEASE think of the investors?!

Insurance is one of those things that you hate until you really, really need it. The payout from my only at-fault wreck easily covered my premiums for the next 10 years.

On the health insurance side, it only takes one hospital stay to equal the premiums for several decades. I was under-insured when my daughter had a three-day stay and my wife needed a couple of MRIs. The bills after insurance nearly bankrupted me.

My company doesn’t do dental insurance.

When you dig into it, it can be kind of a racket. Most health insurance covers cleanings, and any oral surgery as it would any other surgery. So what are the premiums paying for? Cavities, caps, x-rays, special circumstances.

As a company we decided it’s better to put $75 more a month per employee into the HRA instead of dental insurance.
