For love of god thank you Subaru!! Although idk how much the changes will be felt, at least they took the correct steps with sound reduction rather than placing a bunch of heavy mats all over. Will remain to be seen what this will do to the price either.

My guess is that it won’t change the price by much. They did many changes for the 2017 Forester and the price only went up around $500 (if I recall correctly).

True they realistically didn’t add too much more from a material perspective that’s not optional, like the performance package thing. Seems to be a lot of engineering work done if they indeed took time to tinker with suspension and steering settings. Hopefully they can make an interior that won’t make people instantly run for the substantial feeling of VW (not a dig at VW).

It’s nice of Subaru to continue letting the 04-05 Blobeye STi be the best STi.

Meh. As a Subaru fan, I’m not Imprezed. *ba bum CHING*

But seriously. The new Impreza looks a lot more like the current WRX, which is good because the current Impreza doesn’t look nearly as good IMO. I want to see pics of the WRX appearance changes to see if they’re better or worse. Again, IMO, the BRZ facelift has a worse nose than the original (though I do like the revised all-LED lights front and rear).

It’s a midlife facelift. Minor upgrades and changes, the addition of technology already available in other models (Eyesight), and the same old powerplants, including the STi’s which has powered it since before the Earth cooled.

Not that any of these are bad things, except maybe the appearance changes I reserve judgement on. They’re just nothing earth shattering that would make me wait to buy a 2018 WRX over the current one.

Hmm... they’re still using the older 2.5L in the STi, eh?

Well I guess it’s another year wait to get a more powerful FA-based STi engine that’s supposedly in the works.

I hope they do something with their interiors to make them anything other than a sea of hard plastic.
