Bought refurbished on eBay for a mere $160, then tossed in a 250gb SanDisk SSD and the result is an inexpensive and supremely well-built computer with a ton of ports (being a business-grade laptop) and fairly adequate power owing to the 3rd-gen i5 processor. New (in 2013) in this configuration this laptop retailed for around $2000. Depreciation is a wonderful thing.

I’ll give it a thumbs up NP! Love depreciation on electronics.

We used those elitebooks at work for a number of years - I really liked them. Bullet proof except for a few had hard drives go bad - but with the smokin’ fast SSD you are golden. We changed to a cheaper machine about 3 years ago and they are not nearly as nice...

I was anticipating buying a new lappy soon :( I had my laptop completely disassembled. I was hoping to find out why my lappy just randomly powers off. I found a couple ribbon cables all crooked in their connectors and I think the power switch was the culprit.

It seems to be working great! Its a 2011 model lets hope it lasts another 5 years!

I then watched james may reassemble a kenwood mixer and laughed cuz that guy is an amateur, I swear laptops are the worst things in the world to work on.

But now I want a new Kaby lake laptop anyways.

Welcome to the ELITEBOOK MASTER RACE!

I bought an 8470p (14" version of yours) and it has i5 3320M, 8GB RAM, 250GB Samsung Evo 850 SSD, 2nd bay HD caddy + 320GB HD data drive, 1GB AMD 7570M gfx, 1600x900 screen, docking station as well. Works like a charm. All of that for under $250 shipped (though I had the SSD lying around)

MUSTARD RICE. I desperately need to get a 2x 8gb kit for this thing. And a new/better battery or re-cell this one.
