Kinja'd!!!

Two vehicle garage tonight. Both vehicles must be naturally aspirated and cost under $30,000 (in 2017 money) when they were new. The plus side to the budget is that your new car is going to be slightly more power dense than a 458 Speciale. This means your engine’s horsepower will be rated at 1 cc = 0.133 hp (1000 cc = 133 hp) .

*For fun, you can have a third naturally aspirared vehicle of your choice and ignore the budget.

So your 125 cc Grom will go from 10 hp to 17 hp. Maybe you find that 1798cc Corolla SE 6MT you’ve been wanting, well now it makes 239 hp. Make sure you look up the displacement in cubic centimeters instead of relying on the liter rating and as always, enjoy yo’selves!

Do the cars need to be original? The closest I go was with the JDM S2000, where 1cc = 0.124hp. The Speciale has more HP per cc than a 918, and that thing is bloody million dollar hybrid

Damn you the S2000 is just short. At this point I give up.

You can pick any car you like, what I’m doing is transforming your engine into a 458 slayer. So you can pick any car in budget and that 1 cc = 0.133 hp formula is automatically applied. This is a transformation!

Ha, no worries! Funny that a $6,000 car in 1973 is equivalent to almost $33,500 in 2017.

You apply the Ferrari’s output/displacement ratio to the displacement of the car you chose.

Well, in that case, 2017's 30k equals to 1968's 4,2k so I’m getting a 190hp Fiat 124 Spider

Kinja'd!!!

And for daily driving, a sweet 1975 E12 with 327hp from the even sweeter 2.5 M30 straight six

Kinja'd!!!

For the bonus car, the best sounding and prettiest modern-ish Ferrari with a healthy 465 hp

Oh I was under the impression it had to make more power per liter than a 458. Nevermind then.

No naturally aspirated engine beats the 458 Speciale in hp per liter, it holds the production car record. It makes for some fun Corvette math too
