Took the car to Japanese Steel Restoration today, and it turns out the owner, Nikon, is friends with the mechanic who has worked on my cars for years. My carport feels empty.

I’m nervous and excited about this. He says it will come back looking like it just came from the factory. He said I can come by to see progress any time.

He was working on a Porsche 356 Speedester that had rusted to shit, a beautiful 60s Mustang, and was finishing a major restoration on an MGB. At least the Sunchaser is in good company. 30-45 days to finish.

Wait, if the Sunchaser comes back looking like it did from the factory, won’t it be a Celica coupe?

Oh man 1- 1.5 months without it?! I am very much going to miss seeing your posts about (her?). So are I guess I will have to wait to Feb or Mar C&C to come up and see it and give you your swag bag.

You may have documented it elsewhere, what does the restoration entail? 30-45 days seems like a superb turnaround time.

I’m excited for you, I like working on my own car but the idea of handing off a car to a professional for a restoration is pretty cool.

It looks like he uses PPG stuff. Is that what you are getting?
