Now that we got that out the way I’m going to show you the easiest way to “make power” without installing or removing anything from your car.

FIRST STEP: Find the airflow meter, this is where the magic happens.

Now you need to take off the black plastic top. It’s held on with just a bead of clear silicone, a little bit of prying and it should come right off.

Now you need to be paying attention to that big gear and the spring holding it, take something sharp and mark the tooth where the W-spring is resting. That way you’ll know where you started. Now while holding the gear carefully loosen the bolt enough to move the spring out of the way and move the gear about 6 teeth counterclockwise. What this does is loosen the spring holding the flap inside and makes it open up sooner and let more air in. Which triggers the injectors to put more fuel in. Does it actually make a difference IDFK but it was neat to try out.

Just put a resistor inplace of the water temp, probably easiere. It will give some power on especially Diesels, and probably very little on gas cars(can’t just add fuel for more power without more air)

My mother used to repeatedly complain to her repair shop about high water temperature readings on her Dasher wagon. It wasn’t until years later, when the car was mine, that I discovered what they did to shut her up, namely the installation of a resistor between the sensor and the gauge. Simple and effective - she never complained to them about the temp again.

It’s what all the shit cheap “chip tuning boxes” on ebay do mostly.
