Two atoms are walking down the street. on says to the other “I think I’m an ion.” the second says “are you sure?” The first replies “I’m positive.”

I have such a hard time getting out of a funk sometimes, it’s the worst. Sometimes I can catch myself, other times I just let negativity take over my life for a while.

Here’s a diagram of a calcium atomic structure, or “nest”. The protons feed information to the center atom or “Queen” atom. If the Queen atom were to leave the nest, it would result in something known as the Helvetica Scenario.

I lost my temper this morning. I was waiting to turn onto a fast moving road but since a lot of cars were coming I was just sitting until they passed. The person that pulled up behind me honked a bunch of times and made some angry hand gestures. I opened my window, put my whole torso and head out, and showed them my middle finger. It was all over before I knew what was going on and they ended up going another way. I felt very embarrassed after that, I should have been the better person. Mean ol’ temper which seems to happen more often when I’m not feeling tip top.

Sorry to read that things are bumming atm. They say that things look worst right before they start to improve

*crosses fingers on your behalf* (altho admittedly unasked-for)

Hey, just think...if you and a positron bump into each other y’all can emit two 160 keV annihilation photons...!

It’s hard when you’re trying and nothing seems to be going your way. Early 2016 was really bad for me and it was finally starting to get better, then I got laid off. As of recent, I can’t win.

Gonna have to defer to my quantum mechanics professor on that one.

I was laid off for 9-10 months in the beginning of 2009. I hustled as hard as I could, taking consulting gigs and working as a Valet. I think the most important thing to remember when you’re not making the kind of income that you need/want is to continue to go out/have fun. People are so quick to nix that kind of stuff when money gets tight and I understand that, but ya gotta live.

I remember friends asking if I was going to get rid of the E46 because I got laid off. To which my response was “lol great idea, I’ll ditch the thing that brings me the most joy when everything else is going wrong....” I went, “credit and forget it” for a few ski trips during that time etc...

Anyway I’m sure you’ll find something soon. Super tough to stay positive, but it will feel extra good when you land something.

Fortunately I have a good amount of money saved up, I haven’t nixed all fun things, I was in NC for new years and I was in FL a couple days before. I just can’t bring myself to spend a lot of money without knowing when I’m going to have any source of income again. I’m pretty cheap to begin with, so me spending a lot of money now isn’t happening.

I paid off my E90, and I’m sure you remember I also had the 128i. I could have sold the E90, paid off the 1 and kept that, but that’s not what I wanted to do, so I kept the E90. I plan on keeping it for a long time.

It is super hard to stay positive, I know why people completely give up searching for work. I’m not going to say this is the worst experience I’ve been through, but it’s up there. In late 2015, my world kinda came crashing down around me and I went through a period of pretty severe depression.

That’s good that you’re a saver. When I got laid off I was paying $836/month on the E46M3, half of that in rent, and had less than $1000 in the bank:) I was so close to missing one payment that I cold called people to see if I could pressure wash their houses (it worked). Hopefully a mental picture of that gives you a smile.

Yea it’s easy to see why people give up/become complacent. I’m employed but have been looking since last spring and have managed a few interviews, but have not made it to the final round or it’s been the wrong opportunity. I’ve also not been able to get feedback from the recruiter I had been working with. So I don’t know if employers have liked me and just not hired because I don’t have the “merit badges” that they want, or if they thought I was an asshole, or what.

Has to feel great to have the title for that E90, if I wasn’t making payments and fixing mine I might still have it.

I haven’t had that struggle, I had also paid ahead on the 1 so I don’t think I paid on that between losing my job and selling it 3 months later.

I think my problem on interviews is I focused on my experience in oil field operations and not my transferable skills. I had someone help me prepare for this last interview and I’m hoping it helps me get the job. The general manager that interviewed me seemed to really like all my answers for questions. I’m still assuming it’s a no until I get a call or email telling me otherwise. I’ve been sure I was going to get something only to end up getting a no. Well most times they don’t even contact me after the interview, which is about the most frustrating thing ever.

When my first TPA went, I was like $3700 away from paying the car off. The total bill for all the repairs I needed was $3750; I was pissed because it added another month to me paying the car off.
